Downtown Dallis, No. 101

How did you come up with your derby name and number?
My real name is Dallis. When I was a rookie at Assassination City, before I transferred to ARRG, the Dallas Deception guys helped me come up with ‘Downtown Dallis Sniper’ (a play off Lee Harvey Oswald’s nickname.) We chose 101 for the sniper mantra: “1 shot 1 kill” and my zero is usually a cross hair.

How and when did you get involved with roller derby?
One of my friends and I dressed up as roller girls for Halloween. When she told me there was a real league, I showed up to a practice to watch and fell in love with it.

Any serious injuries?
I separated my shoulder as a rookie and have issues dislocating it every now and then. It’s almost always when scrimmaging boys, too.

Do you have a rival on the track?
I have friendly fires with the GateKeepers. They’re so much fun to skate with and they bring out a playful aggression needed to play and enjoy derby.

What is your favorite position to play?
I love to jam, but I really enjoy blocking. I think it’s important to be a well-rounded skater.

Do you have any pre-bout rituals?
A call to mom for luck, sleeping in, and lots of protein, B12, and water.

What kind of skates & wheels do you roll on?
I skate onVertigo Q6’s and I love Juke 88s. I am a soft wheel junkie.

What has been your most exciting moments in your derby career?
I have really rad memories traveling with the All-Stars. We accomplished a LOT together. Captaining the Smashinistas, bench coaching the GateKeepers, and
being sponsored as an Atom All-Star is a huge honor.
