Wanna be a Rollergirl?
Are you Eligible?
You must be 18 or older and medically insured in order to play. No insurance, no skating, no exceptions. You will need to be available to practice at least 7 times per month, including being available Monday nights for our Newbie training night.
You don't need to be a rockstar skater or know how to play the game, and very few recruits have ever played derby before. If you're willing to put in the time and effort, we're willing to train you to play. However, we'd like to see that you can skate at a moderate pace for 5 minutes straight and that you can skate on one foot, both left and right, for a few feet. This is just to ensure that you are stable on skates and ready to learn things like crossovers and stops.
Info Night & Tryouts
Our recruitment process will be held over a series of Monday nights. First, we will hold an Information Night to introduce ourselves, talk about the league, how to become a roller girl, and answer your questions. It is simply there for you to get the info you need to decide if you are going to try out.
There are only a certain number of Newbies we can take under our wing at once, so we hold tryouts to introduce derby to our Recruits. Its a chance for you to show us how much you can learn, and a chance for you to decide if Roller Derby is right for you.
Want to be ahead of the competition? Begin by working out, as well as going to skating rinks to practice.
Want More Info?to get you name on our contact list.
Driving through the Lou and need to stretch your legs? Drop us a line and you will be more than welcome to come practice with ARRG. All visiting skaters must have insurance and must sign a waiver releasing us from liability in case of injury.
Practices are held Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Sunday.
